(Dedan Kimathi is my personal hero'and one of Africa's most important revolutionaries)

Kimathi was executed on Feb. 18, 1957, by the British
occupiers of Kenya. Being captured with a loaded
revolver was enough to send this freedom fighter to the
gallows. Kimathi was hanged because he was a leader of
Kenya’s Land and Freedom Army, demonized by the media as
the “Mau Mau.”
Utamaduni is the Kiswahili word for “tradition” it is often used to refer to culture and tradition. Africa’s traditional culture has been forgotten in so many ways and the purpose of utamaduni wear is to revive African fashion and style in a very unique way by merging today’s ever changing trends with traditional fabrics, accessories and essence.
