Posted by Wambui Wamutogoria on Saturday, July 24, 2010, In : STYLE/FASHION
Gwen stefani is one of my style Icons, she knows how to dress up when the occasion calls for it, but she also knows how to dress down and have "style dignity" in casual wear.  Here are some of my favz

Exhibit A:  When the outfit isn't on point but it feels good on wear Killer heels

Exhibit B: the world of sweaters has really improved, play with shapes and lengths and always do big bags.

Exhibit C: How sick is this vest?

Exhibit D: Be comfortable, the pants with the draw string are too cute, and ...

Bling It!!!!!

Posted by Wambui Wamutogoria on Thursday, July 8, 2010, In : STYLE/FASHION
It was made famous by the egyptian pharoes and African Kings and nobility and was thrown back into this generation by hip hop, gangsters, rappers and pimps (dont you love how the universe works)

Many of you may not know this but I LOVE me some bling on a man. Fellas don't listen to the critics of bling, they just dont understand that sometimes you want to spend money on something that makes you giggle to your self. Bling is really self indulgent (in a good way).

Dont get me wrong I love it when...

Crushing on pearls

Posted by Wambui Wamutogoria on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, In : STYLE/FASHION
Pearls have been infamous for dawning old ladies in a very "I'm simple plain and have no imagination" kind of way. So its not surprising that they originally put me off.

However, a good friend (and total sweet heart) gave me some amazing pearl earrings and reminded me that pearls were beautiful luxurious beauties that if done right , ROCK

So this is how you do pearls.

The group, given to wearing V for Vendetta Guy Fawkes masks, and pictured above during widely publized protests agains...

Dare to wear fashion: Ballsy office wear

Posted by Wambui Wamutogoria on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, In : STYLE/FASHION
I remember my days as a bank employee, the money was good but I hated the "dress code" I always found a way of bending the laws enough where I was professional but still dope and edgy. Bend the rules Girls!!!

This Ashley Isham get up can work if you wear something under the see through skirt, Otherwise this could work as is if you work in the playboy mansion

This Erdem outfit will work as is but if they have a jacket rule at your office you can easily throw a cropped one over this dress

Why you should thank your local drug dealer

Posted by Wambui Wamutogoria on Monday, December 14, 2009, In : SOCIETY

Drugs money worth billions of dollars kept the financial system afloat at the height of the global crisis, the United Nations' drugs and crime tsar has told the Observer.

Antonio Maria Costa, head of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, said he has seen evidence that the proceeds of organised crime were "the only liquid investment capital" available to some banks on the brink of collapse last year. He said that a majority of the $352bn (£216bn) of drugs profits was absorbed into the economic s...

HOW TO USE LEMONS FOR BIRTH CONTROL

Posted by Wambui Wamutogoria on Monday, December 7, 2009, In : HEALTH/NUTRITION

I love natural remedies so when I found this one I just had to share

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Douche bottle or sponge
  • Lemon juice
  1. Step 1

When you go shopping, look for the freshest lemon juice possible. You can juice your own lemons if you have time for the best results. Bottled lemon juice will work just as well, but you will need to make your solution stronger.

  2. Step 2

tie and dye has been creeping its way into my heart,

the colors and prints are beautiful

designers are really getting innovative about their stuff

I mean how sic is this.....

the fabrics being used for the tie and dye aren't  the ordinary stiff cottons

where else will you find prints like these?????

a splash of tie and dye instead of ovewhelming the outfit in a uniform pattern

it don't have to be the free fllowing hippy look either

this dress is TOTALLY my type

RED LIPPS

Posted by Wambui Wamutogoria on Thursday, November 26, 2009, In : BEAUTY

So I guess red lipps are in......

av been saying red lipps are the way to go. Av been rocking my full lipps (made even fuller by the red lipstick since way back) My other motto is whenever I feel a little crappy I always wear my lip stick and the world is a little better :)

If your not a fan of red or just dont feel that look for day time look, I highly reccomend a brownish orange color, it has the same drama without being "daytime innapropriate"

Wear some lipps right now!!!!

Colin Stuart has the Devon Convertible Boot at Victoria’s Secret on sale for a fantastic $129. Michael Kors, Ann Demeulemeester and various other designers have convertible boots as well, but from the photos online, this one is by far my favorite, the least complicated (who needs five lengths?), and by far the cheapest.

The top suede part zips off and then the bottom part is a leather ankle boot. Useful for changeable weather, money-saving and attractive. Nice! I’d protect the boot (but e...

Asian models in black skin

Posted by Wambui Wamutogoria on Monday, November 23, 2009, In : BEAUTY
So, a bunch of people are upset about these and I think they don't understand the whole black face controversy.
"The black face minstrel act was a very popular form of entertainment in 19th-century America. It was also a highly racist depiction of African Americans"

The audience for these shows was largely working-class whites, and at first the black face character was actually a smart and sympathetic one. But as time went on, the minstrel show took on a more racist tone.

Remembering Zenzile Miriam Makeba

I woke up this morning and just wanted to play some Miriam Makeba, I picked a "night with Belafonte" a duo where she and Harry Belafonte did a couple of duo's. After several hours into the day I saw a blog Post on www.mimimagazine reminding me that, on this very day November 10th 2008 Miriam makeba passed away while performing in Italy
It is exactly a year after the passing of Miriam Makeba. She inspired me to be proud of being an African Woman and in a lot of ways molded me into a woman that ...

Stirring up controversy...

Just two weeks ago, Vogue Paris stirred up controversy for coloring Lara Stone’s skin into a dark, nearly black tan for an editorial photographed by Steven Klein.

It’s a misstep on Carine’s part that the spread is linked with racism.  If they would like to feature a black model for a supermodel issue, they could get Naomi or Liya at any time. However, ther...

there is a nice quick stop at this gas station
