This tutorial was taken from one of my FOTKI buddies that has amazing natural hair remedies. I tried this on my hair this past weekend and my hair feels soft and touchably beautiful....al make this part of my routine for sure. OK so here goes

1.       Take 6 large coconuts and take out the shell (I know it’s a DUH!!! Step but some people have never used coconuts before)

cut  Cut the coconuts into tiny slices and dices

3.       put in blender with warm water and blend

4.       sieve with tea strainer

5.       use a more fine sieve like net or white cloth

There you have a 5 step way to make your very own coconut milk. This is a great deep conditioner, just mix it with 1 lime juice and yoghurt, slather it on your hair and cover your hair with a shower cap or plastic bag and leave it in for a couple of hours, then rinse out and your hair will be shinier glossier and stronger and it will smell Devine.

How to make coconut oil

This tutorial was taken from the same chic that showed me how to make coconut oil. (Hopefully I’ll come up with some of my original recopies soon :-)

1.       Take about 8 coconuts removed from their shell ( the more coconut oil you want the more you should have in this step)

2.       Slice and dice coconuts into small pieces.

3.       Put in blender with warm water

4.       Blend until smooth and fine (sounds like a guy I know, anyhu back to the point)

5.       Take the blended mixture and sieve with tea strainer.

6.       Sieve again with smaller strain (I use a white cloth or net)

7.       Put the mixture in a large non stick pot and let it slow cook

8.       Mixture will raise just like when you boil milk, reduce heat and begin stirring mixture

9.       Mixture will begin turning brown and will turn darker with time.

10.   Keep stirring until you see the first coconut oil separate from the brown cooked coconut

11.   Put back on stove and keep stirring, remove oil and repeat process until all oil is drained from coconut

The coconut remnants can be baked in oven as a delicious low fat snack. The coconut oil is great on hair. use on hair ends to keep hair from breaking and drying. Also use on scalp and style as usual.

You can also make your own homemade deep conditioner by mixing:

Coconut milk, coconut oil, yogurt and a little lemon juice. Slather it on your hair and leave it in for about 2 hours. Wash it out with a hair conditioner (not shampoo) and style as usual. You'll notice your hair feels softer and lighter .

Try it out and let me know how it worked for you.....ENJOY
